April Dunford’s Positioning & Sales Pitch Workbook in Notion/Coda

Improve your product/service positioning and sales pitches

April Dunford is the GOAT of positioning. Her books “Obviously Awesome!” & “Sales Pitch” are propagating the novel idea of product marketing STP (segmentation, targeting & positioning) into the tough world of B2B businesses. She has been very generous in creating a condensed workbook out of her two books to help people improve their positioning and sales pitches.

Who is the workbook for?

The workbook is useful to founders, marketers, product and sales folks at B2B technology companies that are working through improving their positioning and sales pitches. The workbook and the templates in it reference and complement the materials in April Dunford's books.

What's included in the workbook?

    • A guide to using the templates and the assumptions that hold true for the methods.
    • The "Positioning Components" reference sheet.
    • The "Positioning Process" reference sheet.
    • The "Positioning Canvas" - a one-page canvas that can be used to capture your positioning.
    • The "Sales Pitch Components" reference sheet.
    • An overview of how to map your positioning components to your sales pitch components.
    • The "Sales Pitch Process" reference sheet.
    • The "Sales Pitch Storyboard" - a one-page canvas designed to capture the key components of a sales narrative.

My Problem & Solution

The original workbook is in PDF format but I like to work in Notion. So, I took the liberty to convert April’s workbook into a notion & coda doc to give me more flexibility while using the workbook content for my learning or professional needs.

Here’s how the notion doc looks like

Similarly, coda doc is also useful:

For notion/coda docs, I do not feel that I am in the right “position” to publicly share the notion/coda docs but you can reach out to me for the notion/coda doc if you want to use notion/coda version but do not want to convert it yourself.
